Obituary of Joann Shelton

Glyndon Joann Shelton, age 82, of Pittsburg, passed away in Tyler on Sunday, July 31, surrounded by her family. JoAnn was born December 25, 1933 in Dallas, Texas to Claude H. Stewart and Trubye Lee Wood. She was a graduate of Irving High School. Joann was a devoted wife, mother, and later grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to running her household she was owner of Shelton Gunite Incorporated with her husband Don Shelton, and also worked as the firm's secretary and accoutant. Mrs. Shelton is survived by her three daughters: Joanna Lynn Woods and husband Dan; Jeri Lynnell Garfield; and Lari Robin Shelton Hall and husband Terry; four grandchildren: Daniel Moses and wife Tracy; Otis Rish and wife Paula; Desire' Kordela and husband Danny; and Bobby Garfield; eight great-grandchildren: Evan, Christian, Alexis, Alex, Mykel, Ronnie, Skyler and Leland and her sister Brenda Vannatta and husband Chris. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 3 at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Wood County. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 2 at the funeral home.
