Obituary of Debbie Kay Peek

Deborah Kay Peek, age 65, of Pittsburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2 in Pittsburg, surrounded by her family. Debbie was born September 23, 1950 in Pittsburg to Olean and Nova Dee Morris Wade. She earned her Bachelors of Science and Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and her Masters of Education from the University of Texas at Tyler. Debbie spent two years teaching Kindergarden and 32 as a first grade teacher with the Pittsburg Independent School District. Later, she was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Debbie loved her family, and deeply cherished the time she spent with them. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Don Peek; two sons: Dustin Peek and wife Ivonne, of Flower Mound, Texas and Nicholas Peek and wife Elise, of Murphy, Texas; six grandchildren: Nathan, Kaiden, Haley, Aubriella, Arianna, and Sienna; three brothers: Mike Wade, of Pittsburg, David Wade, of Irving, and Joel Wade, of Parker, Colorado; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olean and Nova Dee Wade. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, January 4, at Erman Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 5 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions by be made to the Pittsburg Public Library at 613 Quitman Steet, in the way of Childrens Books.
