Obituary of Barbara Jane DeOrnellis

Barbara Jane DeOrnellis, age 74, of Pittsburg passed away Sunday, August 9 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. De Ornellis was born August 11, 1940 in McCrory, Arkansas to Alvin and Elsie Smith Wright. Barbara was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grammy, and aunt and a wonderful homemaker, and also enjoyed a 21 year career at Pilgrim's Pride. Barbara married her husband of 50 years, Orval DeOrnellis, on June 17, 1965 in Peoria, Arizona. Together they raised two sons, Terry and Tony. She is survived by her loving husband, Orval DeOrnellis of Pittsburg; sons Terry DeOrnellis and wife Suzanne, of Henderson and Tony DeOrnellis and wife Amy of Brenham; four grandchildren: Tyler DeOrnellis, Dalton DeOrnellis, Dylan DeOrnellis, and Delaney DeOrnellis; as well as a brother, Tom Wright and wife Judy of Puttsburg, and 3 sisters: Louise Marshall of Laurinburg, North Carolina, Zerita Clark of Pittsburg, and Beverly Anderson and husband Anthony of Pittsburg and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Elsie Wright, and two brothers-in-law: Dave Marshall and Larry Clark. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 12 at 11:00 AM at Erman Smith Funeral Home, with Brother Kyle Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lafayette Cemetery.
