Obituary of Dorothy Loraine Franklin

Dorothy Franklin, age 86, of Pittsburg, passed away Tuesday, June 30 in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Franklin was born November 16, 1928 in Pittsburg, Texas to George and Birdie Edwards Bradshaw. She married John D. Franklin on January 11, 1948. Together they raised two children, David and Judy, and ran Franklin Foods in Pittsburg for a number of years. Dorothy is survived by her son David Wayne Franklin and wife Lisa, of Pittsburg; daughter Judy Croley and husband Beau, of Pittsburg; three grandchildren: Jennifer Copeland, Bobby Croley and David Franklin; three great grandchildren: Mason Copeland, Matthew Croley and Diego Croley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Birdie Bradshaw, husband of 53 years, John Franklin, four brothers and seven sisters. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, July 2 at Erman Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 3 at the funeral home, with Bro. Steve Packer officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
