Obituary of Jimmy Carpenter

Jimmy Carpenter, age 72, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 surrounded by his family. Mr. Carpenter was born April 1, 1942 to Bill and Pauline Looney Carpenter in Pittsburg. In 1962 he married the love of his life, Ann Broadstreet Carpenter. Together they raised two children, David and Melissa. Jimmy worked for the pipline for 19 years, and was a member of Eaves Tabernacle Baptist Church. Jimmy is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Ann Broadstreet Carpenter; his son, David Carpenter and wife Becky; daughter Melissa Thornton and husband Roger; four grandchildren, Kayla Greene, Karley Thornton, Austin Thornton and Shelby Carpenter; along with two brothers, Ted and Tommy Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Pauline Carpenter, granddaughter Skylar Carpenter, and sister Sharon Burruss. Gravside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 28 at Leesburg Cemetery. Vistation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
