Obituary of Roy C. Bullard

Roy C. Bullard, age 91, of Pittsburg, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 in Tyler. He was born April 19, 1923 in Camp County to S.C. and Bertha Stephenson Bullard. Roy served as a Corporal in the US Amy during World War 2, and was the recipient of a Purple Heart for wounds received in action. After his military service Roy married Elizabeth Pilgrim, and together they raised two children. He was a devout member of the First Baptist Church of Pittsburg, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher for about 60 years. Mr. Bullard, although not a member of the Pittsburg Rotary Club, received a Honorary Paul Harris award for his philanthropic contributions to the Pittsburg area. He was also a regular member of the Bank Coffee Group. Roy is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Bullard, of Pittsburg; son Barry Bullard and wife Donna, of Texarkana, Texas; daughter Shan Fincher and husband Jim, of Carollton, Texas; two grandsons, Dustin Bullard, of Dallas, Texas and Collin Bullard, of Texarkana, Texas; a sister-in-law, Charlie Ruth Bullard, of Pittsburg, and many, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 23, at First Baptist Church of Pittsburg, with Brother Steve Packer officiating. Interment will follow at Leesburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, March 22, at the funeral home.
