Obituary of Glenda Cook

Glenda Cook, age 69, of Pittsburg, passed away Wednesday, March 18 in Tyler. Glenda was born May 2, 1945 in Pittsburg, to Glenn and Imogene Morgan Barrett. She worked twenty five years as an administrative assistant to the Superindendent at Pittsburg ISD, and after her retirement was involved with the Retired Teacher Association. She also enjoyed fellowship with her group of ladies playing Bunco, served on the advisory board for the Farm Service Administration and a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Pittsburg. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ronnie Cook, of Pittsburg; two sons, Greg Cook and wife Becky, of Mt. Vernon, and Scott Cook and wife Amy, of Golinda. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren: Macy, Makayla, Mason, McKlayne, Madalyn, Mahaley, Mabry, Mia, Marly and McKeller, along with a great-grandchild, Hayes; two brothers Ronnie Barrett and wife Carol, of Gustine and Donnie Barrett and wife Jackie, of Pittsburg, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Imogene Morgan Barrett, her daughter and son-in-law Buffy Cook Schane and Wade Schane, and sister Cindy Barrett. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 22, at First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, with burial to follow at Maple Springs Cemetery in Newsome. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Saturday, March 21, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church 109 College Street Pittsburg, Texas 75686
