Obituary of Joe M. White

Colonel Joe M. White, USAF retired, passed away Sunday, March 15 in Winnsboro, at the age of 82. Joe was born August 26, 1932 in Jefferson, Texas to Alfred and Grace Gulley White. He attended, and recieved his Bachelors degree from Texas A&M college in 1953. He was a recognized booster and a strong supporter of their Alumni association. Joe was the most honest, ethical and godly man you would ever meet. He was a loving husband, who adored his surviving spouse Donna Jeanne White. They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary on June 8 this year. Together they raised two children, Ron and Debbie. Joe was an Air Force retiree, having dedicated 26 years of his life in service to our nation. He served as a logistics officer and obtained the rank of full Colonel. He was also a devout Christian, and was a proud member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Pittsburg. He was also an active member of the Republican Party prior to his illness. He was an enthuastic outdoorsman, who enjoyed a good hunt, and an avid gardner. Joe and his granddaughter Kristen planted peanuts and potatoes every year for years. After she passed he never planted their crop again, choosing instead to focus on tomatos, purple hulled peas and pinto beans, among numerous preferred seeds. Col. White is survived by his loving wife Donna, of Pittsburg, children: son Ron White and wife Brenda, of Pittsburg, daughter Debbie Worth and husband Tom, of Hillsboro, Missouri. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren: Casey Worth and wife Melissa, Danna Eggemeyer and husband Jay, Christllinne Peltier and husband Tim, Ronald Joe White II, Steven White, Michael Coyle, Anna London, and Christina London, Tristin White, Aislyn White, Jayda Eggemeyer, Delaney Eggemeyer, Tyler Worth, Haley Worth, Wyatt Worth, Elizabeth Pitman, and Gabbryella Pitman and two brothers Tommy and Loyce Stanford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Grace White, and granddaughter Kristen White. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 16 at Erman Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Leesburg Cemetery.
