Obituary of Nieuport Estes

Nieuport Estes, age 93, of Krum, TX, passed away in Pittsburg, TX, Wednesday, March 4, 2015, surrounded by his family. Mr. Estes was born October 22, 1921 in Orlando, Florida to Nieuport Estes Sr., and Charlotte Wilson Estes. In 1942 Nieuport left his bride Elsie Tomlinson behind and enlisted in the US Army Airborne to serve during WW2. Nieuport served with the 101st Airborne Division through the war in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He earned the rank of Sergeant. He was also the recipient of two Purple Hearts, having been wounded twice in action during the course of his service. After the war he returned home to his family, and together with his wife raised a family, Skip, Elaine,and Carmen. He was an accountant by profession. He owned a car dealership in Jacksonville, FL, Estes Car Coral, as well as an RV dealership. In Denton, he was the comptroller at two major car dealerships, then served FEMA in his later years. Nieuport was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mr. Estes is survived by his children; son, Nieuport "Skip" Estes III and wife Leilani, of Jacksonville, Florida, and daughters Elaine Karchaske, of Krum, Texas, and Carmen Conley and husband Dennis, of Pittsburg, Texas. He is also survived by grandchildren,Wendy McGill, Christina Singleton, Ashley Estes, Michelle Chancey, Brooke Anderson, Holly Cantwell, Natalie Williams, Ferrell Wolf, Matthew Karchaske, Cannon Karchaske, as well as 22 great grandchildren, a brother, Edwin Estes, sister Marion Fletcher and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Nieuport was preceded in death by his parents, Nieuport Sr and Charlotte Estes, wife Elsie Tomlinson Estes, and a sister, Dorothy Dickins. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 8th, at Enoch Cemetery in Gilmer, Texas.
