Vicki and her family and ours had been friends since we were probably 3 years old. She was my first girl friend since I had 2 brothers. What fun we had on our farms playing in the woods and with our dolls. We did Brownies and GA's together and performed in the March of Dimes telethons. My mother would play the piano and we'd sing. My favorite experience was our rendition of "Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue!" We were really cute! Vicki was also my first hair stylist- coloring my hair, which was supposed to be blonde, but ended up a strawberry color. I have that picture to prove it. She'd style my hair with Kool Aid. The shared vacations with the Walkers to Arkansas, the memories of her daddy and O C Holcomb singing and my mother playing the piano, playing Murder in the Dark as the parents played 42. Those were the days! I could go on and on, but I will miss her, and "...may flights of angels sing thee to the rest."
