Obituary of Leon Cofer

Leon Cofer, 78, of Longview and of Winnsboro, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019 in Longview.  He was born May 30, 1940 in Winnsboro to Andy Era and Emma Elizabeth Murphy Cofer.

Mr. Cofer was a retired cement finisher and a member of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Soles and husband, Lonnie of Longview; two granddaughters, Audra Carroll and husband, William of Hallsville and Jennifer Martinez and husband, Jaime of Austin; six great-grandchildren, Madison Boyd, Joe Dylan Boyd, Angel Thompson, Piper Carroll, Matheo Martinez, and Samantha Martinez; brother, Junior Cofer; and sister, Pauline Moon.

Mr. Cofer was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Joe Daniel Shirley; two brothers, J.D. Cofer and Donny Glenn Cofer; one sister, Opal Faye Daniels; son-in-law, Joe Shirley.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Pineview Cemetery in Wood County with Bro. Ronny Spence officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg.

Pallbearers will be William Carroll, Joe Dylan Boyd, Jaime Martinez, Matheo Martinez, Lonnie Soles and Jon Shirley, Jr.

No formal visitation is scheduled.
