Obituary of LaVerne Davis

LaVerne Davis of Pittsburg, Texas was born January 25, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to Herbert and Inez Downing Riley and passed away on February 16, 2019 in Tyler, Texas.

She is a member of St. William Laud Episcopal Church, was Executive Assistant to Bo Pilgrim, member of the Rotary Club, former Girl Scout Leader, former Board member of the Camp County American Cancer Society, and church secretary.

She is survived by her daughters, Paula Davis of Little Elm, Melinda Jones and husband Joe Jones of Pittsburg, and Cindy Dumas and husband Vince Dumas of Flower Mound; Grandchildren, Kelly Heide and husband Wes Heide, Holly Chapa, Alec Dumas, Drew Dumas and wife Frances Gordon, and Chandler Dumas; Great Grandchildren, Carson McNutt, Ray McNutt, Julia Chapa, Anna Heide, Ella Heide, and Jackson Heide; brother, Frank Riley and wife Jerry Riley of Dallas, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Inez Riley, husband, Glynn Davis, and brother, Horace Riley.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. William Laud Episcopal Church in Pittsburg with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg. Rev Terry Matthews will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Drew Dumas, Alec Dumas, Chandler Dumas, Wes Heide, Joe Jones, and Vince Dumas.
