Billy was incredibly full of life and laughter. Tough as hell, he endured so much and was always in good spirits. He was such a great guy and I will remember him well. God bless Kay and his family.

We were saddened to hear about the recent passing of Billy. Even though we did not see him often, when we did, he always had a smile on his face, was positive and great to talk too. We feel very fortunate that we got to know Billy through his wife Kay and our Bell Helicopter friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I loved Billy's spirit, he was so friendly and funny. He made you feel like you had known him forever. He was a part of the UT Hospital family, you would think he worked there he felt so comfortable with everyone and we felt the same with him. Our hearts are sadden, but we are so greatful to have known him and we cherish the time that was spent with him. To Mrs. Kay thank you for sharing him with us. We will keep the memories of him alive. We pray your strength in the Lord for he knows all, even when we do not. Always, in our hearts and prayers.

To Kay and family, although I only knew Billy for what was a short while as a neighbor and friend I will miss him as you all and many others will. Billy always had a positive out look, smillin and always willing to help if he could. The day we moved in to our home he was over with a big smile and a basket of peaches. Will never forget that. Rest in peace my friend.

My friend, Billy, is resting comfortably now in heaven. He will be sorely missed by many, there’s no doubt. I got to know Billy on the TFF and we established a relationship from the keyboard. As I would fish Fork and comment on the board about fishing the Skeeter Owners, tourney, out of the blue one day, Billy sent me a personal message and told me to come over to his house and visit while at the lake. I took him up on the offer, and for our very first time meeting in person, he made me feel like I had known him for all of my life. I even went over at another time when he had his house on the lake finished, and he showed me everything. Our paths crossed several times since then, too. Every time I saw Billy he brightened up my day. That was his knack. A true angel has entered into heaven in Billy. I cannot wait to see you again, my friend. And yes, us Skeeter guys will always stick together!! I offer sincere condolences to Kay and all of Billy’s family and friends. May God Bless!

My dear friend and co-worker Kay introduced me to Billy about ten years ago. I already knew he was a good man because Kay was, well, “picky”. Billy Dyson was one of those guys that, when you first meet him, you feel like you had always known him. He had a way of putting you at ease by finding some common groumd to build upon. He had the most attractive personality that complimented his humility. He was a Southern Gentleman and the best Texan I knew. We got together consistently but not often enough. We celebrated a wedding or two and even a few baby showers. Many company events allowed us the best opportunities to catch up. When we would arrive, we would seek each other out and grin. I knew right then I had a refuge in Billy where I coul relax and cut-up. Within the last year or so, we were at a Buchanan function on our building’s patio one night. He and I were sharing a beer kidding each other. We saw Kay and I told him, “you married way over your head, Billy; you’re a lucky man.” He laughed and replied, “yes I did pretty good for myself, but If I had been lucky, I would have found her 25 years ago.” Anyone that knew and watched Billy and Kay and Billy were treated to a swell love story. We knew he was in a battle and he was up to the fight. Every set-back brought another victory. His fight, modern medicine and Kay’s love had this beat. Unexpectedly, to me at least, the momentum swung and the battle turned. Maintaining his style and dignity, Billy assessed where he was and took the fight to a place he knew he could never be defeated. Cancer did not win because my dear friend will live for eternity. He is one of those rarest of men that made things better through just his presence. His absence, bitter at first, will sweeten in time as we realize his memory is still making us better....
