Obituary of Jerry L. Baker, Sr.

Mr. Jerry L. Baker, Sr. age 78 of Pittsburg, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 in Pittsburg. Mr. Baker was born November 16, 1940 to James and Pearl Ola Denton in Cardwell, Missouri. Mr. Baker passed away at his residence with his wife Donna by his side.

Mr. Baker was retired from the U.S. Department Of State, Foreign Service and served in the United States Air Force.

Mr. Baker is survived by his wife Donna Jefferson Baker of Pittsburg, sons Jerry Lee Baker Jr., and Jon Lovelace Baker, daughters Susan Dianne Baker Scharpf, and Cathy Renee Baker Towery, and step son Mitchell E. Jefferson, grandchildren, Austin Wayne Baker, Logan Spence Baker, Chase McKade Baker, Jaxson Kent Baker, Gretchen Lovelace Baker, Ian Wallace Baker, Keldan Dahle Baker, all of Utah, Dylan John Scharpf, Seth Baker Scharpf, of California, William Hunter Mullennix, Mallory Elizabeth Towery of Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Herschel Wayne Baker, James Weldon Baker, and Bobby Joe Baker, and sisters, Ada Geneieve Baker Horner, Betty Jean Baker Cribb, Wanda Fay Baker Herrod, and Bonnie Sue Baker.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg, with burial at Leesburg Cemetery in Leesburg, Texas. There will be no visitation.
