Obituary of Geraldine Kirkes

Mrs. Geraldine "Dean" Hilderbrand Kirkes age 90 of Pittsburg, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 in Pittsburg. Mrs. Kirkes was born May 10, 1928 to Clida Estell and Bessie Henry Hilderbrand in Houston, Texas.

Mrs. Kirkes was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, a lifetime member of The Order of The Eastern Star and was retired from The Pittsburg Gazette.

Mrs. Kirkes is survived by her daughters; June Kirkes Owens of Aransas Pass, Texas, Faye Kirkes Turrentine and husband Elroy of Pittsburg, Texas, grandchildren; Richard Owens Jr. and wife Rachael of Yoakum, Texas, Brian Owens and wife Shannon of Corpus Christi, Texas, Amy Hammonds and husband Will of Paris Texas, great grandchildren; Kelsi Owens, Abigail Owens, Ethan Owens, Caleb Marshall, KarLee Owens, Hannah Marshall, HayLee Hammonds, and Carter Owens.

Mrs. Kirkes was married to her true love, Roy Lee "John" Kirkes for seventy three years, he preceded her in death in July of 2018.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, a son in law Richard Owens, one brother Albert Hilderbrand, and two sisters Marie Poe and Cleda Bostick.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel, with buiral at Macedonia Cemetery with no graveside service following the chapel service, Bro. Randy Stracener and Rev. Hill Johnson will officiate with Richard Owens Jr., Brian Owens, Will Hammonds, Ethan Owens, Caleb Marshall, and Carter Owens serving as pallbearers and Waylond Kirkes, Norman Poe, Elroy Turrentine, and Rex Minchew as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held, Thursday December 13, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
