Obituary of David Neal Matthews

David Neal Matthews, age 60, of Pittsburg passed away on Thursday March 1, 2018 surrounded by his family in Pittsburg. Mr. Matthews was born on December 27, 1957 to David and Dorthy Forsyth Matthews in Brownfield, TX.

David is survived by his wife Sharon Matthews of Pittsburg, sons: David Roy Matthews of Mt. Pleasant, Brian Matthews and wife Jennifer of Pittsburg, Jason Beckham and wife Sarah of Pittsburg, daughters; Mandi Murrell and husband Terry of Pittsburg, Kelly Beckham of Pittsburg, and Wendy Bryan and husband Stephen of Mt. Vernon, nineteen grandchildren Kenzie Smith, Kolton Smith, Khaygan Smith, Collin Burke Beckham, Trevor Beckham, Lainne (Chunky) Beckham, Emmy Beckham, Darah Jones, NayNay Jones, Brayden Bryan, Austin Bryan, Cameron Bryan, Makayla Bryan, Landon Matthews, Malachi Matthews, Zoe Matthews, Layla Matthews, Misty Whitfield, Candice Murrell, four great-grandchildren Alyssa Whitfield, Bubba Whitfield, Kaiden Whitfield, Dawson Randall, Graisyn Murrell, Adalee Matthews, brother Lynn Matthews and wife Pam of Dekalb, and sister Sheila Carter and husband Walter of Pittsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents David and Dorthy Forsyth Matthews, brother Dwayne Matthews, and sister Charlotte Hughes.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday March 3, 2018 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg with Bro. Kyle Smith officiating, Kolton Smith, Trevor Beckham, Brayden Bryan, Austin Bryan, Collin Burke Beckham and Landon Matthews serving as Pallbearers and Roy Wise, Earl Brockmon, Jona Fuller and Bobby Murphree as honorary pallbearers, with burial at Crossroads Cemetery in Pittsburg. Family will receive friends on Friday March 2, 2018 from 5P.M.-7P.M at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
