Obituary of James Martin

James "Buck" Martin of Gilmer, formerly of Pittsburg, passed away in Tyler Saturday morning, January 13, at the age of 86. Mr. Martin was born January 15, 1931 in Pittsburg, Texas to Fletcher "Flip" Martin and Emma Gibson Martin.

Mr. Martin was a member at Emmanuel Baptist Church, but was currently attending First Baptist Church in Gilmer, was retired from Hazlewoods Furniture and Appliance where he worked a number of years at an appliance repairman.

He is survived by his wife Jean Martin; his son: Terry Martin and wife Shana of Tyler; daughters: Denise Sewell and husband Larry of Gilmer and Debbie Johnson of Gilmer; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a brother: Johnny Martin and wife Linda of Coke, Texas.

James was preceded in death by his parents: Fletcher and Emma Martin; three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Leesburg Cemetery in Camp County. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. Kyle Smith and Marion Palmer will officiate the service.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Ray Higginbotham, Bobby Jackson, Larry Sewell, Larry Cummings, Jacob Martin, and Wayne Broadstreet.
