Obituary of Nadine Laird Richardson
Nadine Laird Richardson, of Pittsburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, October 4, at the age of 97. Nadine was born September 15, 1920 in Camp County to Paul and Edna Houston Laird. Nadine graduated from Pittsburg High School and went on to Business School before embarking on a career of over 40 years as a teller at Pittsburg National Bank.
Nadine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and a dear friend to many. In addition to working at the bank Nadine also enjoyed spending time volunteering at the Camp County Rural Heritage Museum, and also a volunteer for activities at the nursing home. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she was the oldest living member.
She is survived by her two sons: Johnny Paul Richardson and wife Pat of Pittsburg, and Melvin Richardson and wife Laura, also of Pittsburg; a daughter: Janie Sigle and husband Stan of Carrolton, Texas; four grandchildren: Randy and Paula Sadler, Zane and Ashley Richardson, Chase Richardson, and Preston Sigle; six great-grandchildren: Andy and Ryan Pattillo, Zac and Liz Wheeler, Dusty Wheeler, Brody Wheeler, Finley Richardson, and Henry Richardson; and two great-great-grandchildren: Rush Wheeler and Evy Pattillo; and a sister: Madonna Garrison of Simsboro, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Paul C. Laird and Edna Houston Laird; husband: Johnnie Utah Richardson; an infant son: Randy Mark Richardson; grandson: John Patrick Richardson; three brothers: Peck Laird, E.C. Laird, and Ralston Laird; two sisters: Pauline Garrettson and Juanita Robertson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Pittsburg with Bro. Eddie Marsh officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 6, at Erman Smith Funeral Home.
