Obituary of Nancy Ferrell
Nancy Ferrell, of Pittsburg, passed away in Winnsboro, TX, Friday, September 29, 2017 following a brief illness. She was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on August 13, 1935.
Throughout her 82 years, Nancy touched many people’s lives with her kindness, generosity and positive spirit. It’s easy to smile when remembering how much she loved her family and friends and the fun we shared with her. She truly did bring love and joy into our lives.
Although we grieve Nancy’s death, we are strengthened by the knowledge that it was her decision to forego further treatment for her illnesses and she was spiritually, emotionally and physically ready to be with God and her loved ones. We have been greatly comforted by the prayers, support and understanding that Nancy received from friends, neighbors, and health care professionals. She frequently voiced her appreciation for being so well taken care of.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Kermit D. Ferrell, who she met while they were both attending the University of Oklahoma. They spent their married years living in several different states and in Europe before settling in Pittsburg Texas upon Kermit’s retirement. They were fortunate to have had many opportunities to explore the world together. Nancy is also survived by her 2 daughters, Penny Ferrell and Jill Ferrell Holton. Sadly her beloved grandson, Seth Ferrell, preceded her in death in 2012.
A Celebration of Life for Nancy will be on Friday, October 6th at 3:30pm at Erman Smith Funeral Home, 315 Rusk Street, Pittsburg Texas.
