Obituary of Mark Wayne "Dub" Duncan
Mark Wayne "Dub" Duncan, age 58, of Pittsburg, passed away in Tyler on Tuesday morning, July 25, surrounded by his family. Mark was born May 9, 1959 in Pittsburg, Texas to William Carl "Dub" Duncan and Kathryn Bates Duncan. On February 14, 1981 he wed Livia Messer at the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg. Over the next 36 years the couple would laugh, love and raise a family. Dub, as he was known to his friends, was an employee of Lone Star Steel for 36 years where he worked as a foreman.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife Livia Duncan; two sons: Daniel Duncan and Michael Duncan; his mother: Kathryn Duncan; a brother: Bates Duncan and wife Angie; a sister: Jana Duncan Wilson and husband Charlie; a brother-in-law: Gary Messer and wife Elaine; and three nephews: Jared Duncan, Aaron Duncan and wife Jessica, and Jason Messer and wife Misty Baker; two nieces: Bailey Dalby and husband Michael, and Kenzie Messer; along with a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father: William Carl "Dub" Duncan.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 28, at Erman Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 27, also at the funeral home.
