Obituary of J. W. Broadstreet
J.W. Broadstreet, age 93, of Leesburg, passed away at his home Satuday afternoon, May 6, surrounded by his loved ones. J.W. was born January 3, 1924 in Winona to Eugene and Dessie Newkirk Broadstreet.
J.W. worked in the oilfields until retirement, and then worked with his son as a dairy farmer. He was a long time member of Eaves Tabernacle Baptist Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife Etta Faye Martin Broadstreet; a son: Wayne Broadstreet of Leesburg; a daughter: Ann Carpenter of Pittsburg; 3 grandchildren: David Carpenter and wife Becky, Melissa Thornton and husband Roger, and Donna Jeffus and husband Steve; 6 great-grandchildren: Kayla Green, Shelbi Koreniewski, Karly Thornton, Austin Thornton, Hayden Jeffus, and Cole Jeffus; along with a host of friends.
J.W. was preceded in death by his parents: Eugene and Dessie Broadstreet; his siblings: Arvil Broadstreet, Exel Boles, and Florene Sparks; and a great-granddaughter: Skylar Carpenter.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 P.M. Monday, May 8, at Leesburg Cemetery. Bro. Ken Manley will officiate. Pallbearers will be David Carpenter, Bobby Jackson, Steve Jeffus, Roger Thornton, Bobby Boles, and Stanley Higginbotham. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Monday, prior to the graveside.
