Obituary of Sam Joe Burns

Sam Joe Burns, age 90, of Pittsburg, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. Sam was born May 12, 1924 to Oscar C. and Nona Cook Burns in Emory, Texas. He served in the US Army during WW2, and was the retired owner of Burn's Grocery. He married Mildren Katherine Burns, and together they rasied two children. Sammy is survived by his loving wife Mildren, son Danny K. Burns, of Pittsburg, daughter Teresa Ann Gholston, of New Boston, five grandchildren: Tausha Renee Carlson, of Austin; Blake Daryn Burns, of Ft. Worth; Bradley Burns, of Keller; Lance Christopher Gholston, of Arlington; and Collin Ryan Gholston, of New Boston, and numerous nieces and nephews.
