Obituary of David Alan Murphy

David Alan Murphy, of Pittsburg, passed away Wednesday evening in Dallas at the age of 62. David was born November 28, 1954 in Kaufman, Texas to Billie and Jean Murphy. On July 5, 1974 he wed Kandy Nelson. David was devoted to his family. Regardless of what trials life had in store for his family, David could always be counted on for advice, his unimpeachable integrity, and unconditional love. He was especially dedicated to his grandchildren, to whom he was known as Popo. David is survived by his wife of over 44 years, Kandy Murphy; his three sons: David Alan Murphy, Jr. of Lewisville, Andrew Hayden Murphy of Pittsburg, and Billy Irvin Murphy III of Pittsburg; 4 grandchildren: McKayla Murphy, Marisa Murphy, Chloe Murphy, and David Alan Murphy; a brother: Billie Irvin Murphy, Jr. and wife Michelle of Highland Village, Texas; two sisters: Darlene Bishop of Denton and Kelly Schafer of Arizona; along with numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Billie and Jean Murhpy, and a brother: Terry McGary. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, December 10 at Macedonia Cemetery in Pittsburg, TX. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.
