Obituary of Norma Jean Wynne
Norma Jean Wynne, 85, of Tyler, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 3, 2016. Graveside services will be held on, December 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the New Mine Baptist Church Cemetery, 536 County Road3412, Pittsburg, Texas 75686. Dr. Doug Baker will officiate under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home, 315 Rusk Street, Pittsburg, Texas 75686. Family and friends will gather at the Erman Smith Funeral Home between 12:45 -1:45 P.M. Thursday.
Jean was born November 11, 1931, in Pittsburg, Texas, to the late Chalmas Edge Wynne and Ruby Grace Kimbell Wynne and was raised in Pittsburg. She was a graduate of Pittsburg High School and the Federal Institute Business School of Tyler. After graduation she began her sixty-year work career in Tyler, Texas. She retired December 31, 2009 after spending her last twenty years working at Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler, Texas where she was a longtime member.
In addition to her parents, her stepmother Mae Rudolph Wynne, her sister, Billie Holverson, her brother Edwin Wynne, and her nephew Scott Miller Wynne preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sister Grace Cooper of Paris Texas, her sister Patsy Carpenter of Tyler, Texas, her brother, Richard Perry Wynne and his wife, Shirley Wynne, of Bullard, Texas, her nephews, John Holverson of Mount Vernon, Texas, Russell Cooper and wife, Nancy, of Tyler, Texas, Gary Wynne of Odessa, Texas, Chat Wynne and wife Michelle of Frisco, Texas, her nieces, Joyce Schaeffer and husband Ed of Paris, Texas, Jan Weiberg and husband Doug of Paris, Texas, Susan Wynne of Austin, Texas, eleven great nieces and nephews and ten great, great nieces and nephewsThe family offers special thanks to Visiting Angels, Leigha, Kathy, Sharon and Tracy for their loving care of Jean in her last days.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that any donations be made to the Eternal Flame Fund, at Marvin United Methodist Church, 300 West Erwin, Tyler, Texas 75702 or to the charity of your choice.
