Obituary of Matthew Keith Wilkerson

Matthew Keith "Matt" Wilkerson passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 10 at Trinity Mission in Winnsboro at the age of 57. Matt was born September 25, 1958 in Clovis, New Mexico to Thomas L. Wilkerson and Gearldean Whitehurst Wilkerson. Mr. Wilkerson was a true "rambling man", and spent his whole life behind the seat of his Big Rig, clocking miles all across the country. In fact, one might say he was born to drive, having been born in the back of a Big Rig. When he wasn't on the road Matt did what he loved best; spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Carla D. Smith; a daughter: Delana; Step-sons: Dalton and Aaron; Step-daughters: Amber and Shana; a brother: Jeff; and a sister-in-law: Vickie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Gearldean Wilkerson, and a brother Preston. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 13, at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Shiles Hubbell and Terry Johnson. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 before the service. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Franklin County. Pallbearers will be Dalton Kitts, Justin Wallace, Dusty Malone, Kerry Bell, Shane Sprueill, and James Hicks.
