Obituary of Earnest Carl Mayberry

Earnest Carl Mayberry, passed away Saturday, February 6, in Pittsburg. Mr. Mayberry was born August 22, 1926 in Bandera County, Texas to X.N. and Cynthia Reed Mayberry. Carl served in the U.S. Army during World War Two, serving in both the Philippines and Japan, as a member of the 64th Field Artillery Battalion. After the war he married Lottie Logston; together they had two children: Carlotta and Loretta. Mr. Mayberry was a devout Christian, and shared those values with his own family. He spent many years working his own land farming and ranching. He is survived by his two daughters: Carlotta Kimbrough and husband Tom, of Pittsburg and Loretta Sue Beard, also of Pittsburg; as well as four grandchildren: Luke Kimbrough, Matt Kimbrough, Carl Beard, and Carrie Beard Heffner; and four great-grandchildren: Jacob Kimbrough, Caleb Kimbrough, Andrew Hefner, and Jeron Quiros. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lottie Mayberry, his parents, X. N. and Cynthia Reed Mayberry, and seven siblings. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 9, at the funeral home, with Larry Black officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday.
