Obituary of Myrtle Lee Carpenter Fordyce
Myrtle Lee Carpenter Fordyce, 90, of Houston, passed away Thursday, January 21 in Cypress, Texas. Myrtle was born March 27, 1925 in Camp County to George Jackson Carpenter and Emma May Williams Carpenter. She graduated from Pittsburg High School and went to work for Humble Oil Refining Company.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Burkholder and husband Gaylon; a granddaughter: Jennifer Mangum and husband Ronnie; 4 great-grandchildren: Kaitlynn Smallwood, Cameron Mangum, Emily Mangum, and Michael Mangum; also, four nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Emma May Carpenter; two brothers: Clifford Carless Carpenter and Preston Carpenter; three sisters: Trudie Carpenter West, Irene Faye Carpenter Reynolds, and Annie May "Madie" Carpenter; as well as a grandson, Derek Smallwood.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 26, at Ebenezer Cemetery in Camp County with Brother Randy Stracener officiating.
