Obituary of Daniel James "D.J." Haines

D.J. Haines, of Pittsburg, passed away Thurday, January 14 in Tyler, at the age of 90. D.J. was born January 10, 1926 in Beggs, Oklahoma to Leander and Leona Kinman Haines. D.J. Haines was a loving husband for 63 years, a hero of a father and loved his grandchildren with all his heart. He was a huntin' fishin' shootin' man and appreciated all that nature had to offer. His longevity was a tribute to the love shared with his family. He will be greatly missed and will be held in our hearts forever. He is survived by his two sons: Daniel J. Haines II and Dale A. Haines and wife Jane; three grandchildren: Cody Haines, Jessica Haines, and William Haines; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leander and Leona Haines; his beloved wife Jill Haines; 2 brothers: Ted Haines and Leonard Haines; and two sisters: Thelma Pease and Donna Petty. A memorial service will be held Monday, January 18 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg. Informal visitation will be held Saturday, January 16, from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon; Sunday, January 17, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM and Monday, January 18, from 8:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M.
