Obituary of David Monroe Shumate

David Monroe Shumate, of Pittsburg, passed away Monday, January 11 in Tyler at the age of 66. David was born September 27, 1949 in Titus County to Milton Shumate and Inez Evins Shumate. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margaret Shumate; a son: Jonathan Shumate and wife Audrey, of Redwater, Texas; a daughter: Stephanie Dildine and husband Casey, of Richmond, Virginia; 7 grandchildren: Ethan, Cross, and Greer Shumate, Wyatt, Kortlyn, Kassidy, and Emile Dildine; brother: Johnny Lehman and wife Chris of Highland Village, Tx; nieces and nephews: Melissa Campbell, Jannette Bradfield, Johnny Shumate, Lindsey Earman, Josh Lehman; numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Inez Shumate. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 14 at the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg. Burial will follow at Hickory Hill Cemetery in Titus County. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 13, at the First Baptist Church.
