Obituary of Danny Ray Mayo
Danny Ray Mayo, age 59, of Pittsburg passed away Thursday, October 22 surrounded by his family at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. Danny was born November 6, 1955 in Winnsboro to Fred and Billie Steed Mayo. In 2001 he married the love of his life, Louise.
Danny was a fixture in Pittsburg, having spent many years working at the ABC Autoparts Store in town. He was a kind and caring person, who never had a harsh word to say about anyone. He was a family man who especially loved spending time with his grandkids. He made sure to attend every little league football game he could, and was very proud to have seen his grandsons play at Cowboy Stadium last year.
Danny enjoyed relaxing at home and watching college basketball with his dogs. When time allowed he enjoyed taking Louise to Hallsville to watch the drag races. Danny had a passion for cars, as evident to anyone who came to the parts store; and especially loved classic muscle cars.
Danny is survived by his wife, Louise Mayo; four step-sons: Bobby Richardson and wife Maria, Ray Kennedy and wife Charlotte, Chris Kennedy and wife Gillia, Jeffery Kennedy and wife Cecelia. Also left to cherish his memory are his 8 grandchildren. Danny was eagerly looking forward to the arrival of his first great-granddaughter: Addeline.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Billie Mayo; and a sister: Patricia Rose Mayo.
A memorial service will be held 6:00PM, Saturday, November 7 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Pittsburg CASA Child Advocacy Group in Danny's honor.
