Obituary of Joann Sievert

Joann Edith Sievert, age 85, of Pittsburg, passed away Wednesday, October 21, at her home. Joann was born February 23, 1930 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Hugo and Margaret Longeway Gustke. She married Robert Sievert in 1948 in LaPorte, Indiana. Together they raised two children; Steven and Pam. Joann was a loving wife and devoted mother, and later grandmother. She was also an excellent homemaker. Mrs. Sievert is survived by her son: Steven Sievert and wife Gaylene, of Mt. Pleasant; daughter: Pam Jones and husband Mark, of Pittsburg; five grandchildren: Michael Jones and wife Misty, Kim Lewis and husband Greg, Anna Cantrell and husband Will, Stefanie Morlen and fiancee Mike King, and Loralee Phillips; 11 great grandchildren; a brother: Paul Gustke, of Sarasota, Florida; a sister: Gail Brewer, of Yorkville, Illinois; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Hugo and Margaret Gustke; and her husband of 36 years, Robert Sievert. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 14 at Midway Baptist Church in Midway, with Brother Doyle Rust officiating.
