Obituary of Mary Evelyn Maynard King
Mary Evelyn Maynard King, age 65, passed away Monday, October 19, at her home in Pittsburg. Mrs. King was born July 29, 1950 in Cooper, Texas to Rudolph and Marvelle Armstrong Maynard.
Mary enjoyed a lengthy career as a hair stylist and beautician. Apart from working at various salons, she owned the Sassy Scissors Salon in Fort Meyers, Florida for many years, and even taught at Lamar Beauty College. Later she cut hair for the residents of Southern Winds Manor in Pittsburg.
Mrs. King is survived by her husband of 33 years, Bailey King; a son: Joe Stanley Womack, of Mt. Vernon; a daughter: Shelley Ruth, of Houston; a daughter: Heather Kristen Fagan, of Carbondale, Pennsylvania; 4 grandchildren: Kayla Fagan, Devin Fagan, D.J. Fagan and Kevin D. Ward, Jr.; a great-granddaughter; a brother: Tony Maynard, of Sulphur Springs; and a sister-in-law: Sheri Maynard; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and many very dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Rudolph and Marvelle Armstrong Maynard; 3 brothers: Gary Maynard, Rodney Maynard and Jeff Maynard; and a sister: Sandra Bingham.
Graveside services will be held at Hoover Cemetery in Big Sandy, Texas on Thursday, October 22 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 10:45 to 11:45 at Erman Smith Funeral Home.
