Obituary of Betty Avent

Betty Jane Avent, age 75, of Pittsburg, passed away Thursday, October 8, in Gilmer, surrounded by her family. Betty was born July 1, 1940 in Camp County to John William and Altie Loreine Stucker Douglas. Mrs. Avent is survived by her husband, Harvey Avent; two sisters: Melba Terrell and husband Travis of Daingerfield and Becky Youngblood of Pittsburg; along with five brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Altie Douglas; a brother: James Douglas; and a sister: Mary Elizabeth Douglas.
