Obituary of Fannie May Cagle Barton

Fannie May Cagle Barton of Winnsboro, formerly of Brownwood, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the age of 92. Fannie was born in Arlington, Texas on September 10, 1924 to Perry Frank Cagle and Fannie May McDonald Cagle. Fannie was devoted to her family and to the Lord Jesus Christ. Fannie supported her husband, the late Reverend Paris A. Barton, in his ministries throughout the west Texas region. She was a longtime resident of Brownwood, Texas prior to her move to the Pittsburg area. While living in Pittsburg she was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter: Kaye Derrick and husband Clifton "Kip" Derrick of Pittsburg; two grandchildren: A. Kirk Derrick and wife Tiffany of Ft. Worth and Kristy Vee Waltman of San Antonio; five great-grandchildren: Cody Derrick, Alex Derrick, Rachel Marie Waltman, Austin Calvin Waltman, and Hollie Kaye Waltman; a sister: Rosemary Caudill and husband Lee of Stanton, Kentucky; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in New York, Kentucky, Missouri, California, and Texas. Fannie was preceded in death by her parents: Perry and Fannie Cagle; her beloved husband: Reverend Paris A. Barton; two brothers: James Franklin Cagle and Willie Walter Cagle; two sisters: Viola Melva Cagle Phillips and Essie May Cagle Haller. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 14, at Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood, Texas with Reverend Jeff Gore officiating.
