Obituary of Edith Allene Hackler

Edith Allene Duncan Hackler went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 13, 2017. She was surrounded by her loyal caretakers and the staff at East Texas Medical Center in Pittsburg, Texas. “Mimmie” as she was known by those who loved her was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N.C. Duncan, her brothers, Foy Duncan, Eldred Duncan, Hubert Duncan, and sisters Mavon Benson, Gertha Faye Hudnall, and Melba Holmes, and her husband of 42 years, J.S. Hackler . She is survived by her brother, Royce Duncan, four children John Stanley and Daughter-in-law Holly Hackler, Jackie Hackler, Joe Max Hackler, and Janice Leigh Hackler. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren and Domino partners Ashley Hackler Perrine, Allisha Hackler Jackson, Jason Blake Roye, Reagan Kelley Roye Olivo, Michael Stephen Hackler, and Jacob Spence Hackler. Mimmie is also survived by 13 Great Grandchildren. Allene, as she was called by her many friends was born on February 25, 1922 in Upshur County to Nathaniel and Alice Duncan, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, Texas. She dedicated her life to God and raising her four children. She was loved by many and will be missed by many. Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 16, 2017 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 1:00 until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Matinburg Cemetery.
