Obituary of Elmie Jean Denson

Elmie Jean "Nonny" Denson, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11 at the age of 67. Jean was born November 15, 1949 in Mount Enterprise, Texas to Elmer and Ruby Clifton. She was a long time member of Argo Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Denson is survived by her four children: Alan Denson and wife Brandi of Cookville, Nathan Denson of Cookville, Brandon Denson of Klein, and daughter Robin West and husband Russell of Mt. Pleasant; as well as five grandchildren: Asia Shumate, Tera West, Blake Denson, Megan Denson, and Ali Denson; a great-grandchild: Jordan West; two brothers: Richard and wife Terry of Pittsburg, and Carl of Bonham; a sister: Nelda of Naples; along with numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Elmer and Ruby Clifton; husband: Wirth Denson; and a granddaughter: Donya West. Pallbearers will be Ben Shumate, Trent Shumate, Jerrod Vaught, Alex Vaught, Brian Applegate, and Brian Collins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doyce Kennington, J.C. Jones, Jackie Howell, and Charlie Crain. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 14 at Erman Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Randell Crawley officiating. Burial will follow at Crossroads Cemetery in Camp County. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 13 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jean's name to the American Lung Association, PO Box 7000, Albert Lea, MN 56007-8001.
