Obituary of Frances Irene Phillips

Frances Irene "Jackie" Phillips passed away Wednesday, March 2 in Mt. Pleasant at the age of 88. Jackie was born May 18, 1927 in Pittsburg to K.D. Heath and Pearl Turner Heath. She graduated from Gladewater High School in 1944. On July 9, 1953 she married Emmett Phillips. Mrs. Phillips was a devoted mother and grandmother, and later, a great-grandmother. She and husband Emmett were regular members of the Faith Baptist Church in Pittsburg (now Bible Baptist) for many years before her health limited her participation. She is survived by her son: Chris Phillips, of Pittsburg, as well as three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Emmett Phillips; a son: Dennis N. Green; parents: K.D. and Pearl Heath; two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 5, at the funeral home, with Bro. Chris Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Pittsburg. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday, preceeding the funeral service.
