Obituary of Bill Ray Bain

Bill Bain, age 71, of Pittsburg, passed away Saturday, January 30 surrounded by his family at East Texas Medical Center in Pittsburg. Mr. Bain was born September 8, 1944 in Dallas, Texas to J.W. Bain and Modean Riddle Bain. Bill was a man's man; he enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. He always prided himself on his fitness and was fond of working out and lifting weights. He had a great sense of humor and could be a bit of a flirt. Bill was also fond of cooking, as was known for his excellent cornbread dressing, which was a staple at many a holiday meal. He was a hero to his family, especially his kids. Bill worked at Reliant Tool in Dallas for 47 years before moving to Pittsburg with his wife Margaret to enjoy their retirement. Bill is survived by his wife Margaret; son: Scott Bain and wife Amy Calloway; daughter: Amy Jo Bain and husband Lance Hughes; two grandchildren: Triston Bain and Dee McCulloch; five step-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Neal, Kaleign Neal, Jason Hand, Wesley Balentine, and Jordan Balentine; a step-son: Brent Neal and wife Patty; and step-daughter Holly Balentine and husband Aaron. He was preceded in death by his parents: J.W. Bain and Ina Modean Bain Campbell; step-father: Claude Campbell, and a sister: Barbara Cone. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, February 1, at First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, with Reverend Hill Johnson officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 P.M., Monday, February 1 at Lydia Cemetery, near Avery, Texas. Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 31, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
