Obituary of Mark Samuel McKinney

Mark Samuel McKinney passed away at his home in Pittsburg on Sunday morning, December 17, at the age of 70. Mark was born July 15, 1947 in Sherman, Texas to Mark Truman McKinney and Alma “Jean” Neal McKinney.

Mr. McKinney earned his Business degree from East Texas State, Commerce, TX, He was responsbile for Construction and Engineering at Pilgrim's Pride for 23 years; and worked on projects in 22 states, as well as Africa, Australia, and Nicaragua. Of all of the projects Mark undertook he was most proud of the Pittsburg Prayer Tower. Mark was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years; Nancy Clements McKinney of Pittsburg; son; Mark T. McKinney and his wife Angie of Pittsburg; daughter; Kimberly Beard of Carrolton; Grandchildren; Ryan McKinney, Austin McKinney, Brandi Allen, Tyler Beard, Cameron Beard, and Natalie Beard; and brother; Donald McKinney of Ft. Worth, and several nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by: his parents, and brother, Gary McKinney.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with a Private Family graveside to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg. Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mr. McKinney's honor to CASA of Titus, Camp and Morris Counties at PO Box 2506, Mt. Pleasant, Texas 75455.
