Obituary of Sam Bray

Sam Bray, 59, of Pittsburg, passed away at his home in Pittsburg on Monday, October 23, 2017 surrounded by his family. Sam was born September 8, 1958 in Harlan, Kentucky to Roy Thomas Bray and Mary Ella Bray.

Sam wed the love of his life, Tina Noe on October 10, 1983. Over the next 34 years they would laugh, love, and raise a family. Sam was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing and camping, especially with his grandchildren. Sam worked as a control room operator at Keller's Creamery in Winnsboro for over 18 years, and had also worked as a coal miner.

He is survived by his wife Tina Bray; two daughters: Nicole Roberson and husband Gene of Leesburg, and Samantha Hargett and husband Wes of Pittsburg; three grandchildren: Timothy Roberson and wife Kelsey of Winnsboro, Braydon Hargett of Pittsburg, and Mason Hargett also of Pittsburg; three great-grandchildren: Conner Roberson, Raelynn Roberson, and Briar Roberson all of Winnsboro; two brothers: Jerry Bray and wife Teresa of Pennington Gap, Virginia, and Rick Bray and wife Shirley of Cawood, Kentucky; two sisters: Marylyn Middleton and husband Darrell of Cawood, Kentucky, and Susan Goodie and husband Chester also of Cawood, Kentucky. Sam is also survived by a number of nices and nephews, and his very good friend Byron Hargett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mary Ella Bray; and two brothers: Kim Bray and Roy Wayne Bray.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Bro. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow at East Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery in Upshur County. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 25, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Noe, Tom Noe, Donnie Noe, Frank Noe, Gene Roberson, Wes Hargett, Byron Hargett, and Timothy Roberson. Honorary pallbearers are Braydon Hargett, Mason Hargett, Conner Roberson, Briar Roberson, and Raelynn Roberson.
