Obituary of Dennis Paul Vance

Dennis Paul "Pops" Vance, of Leesburg, passed away Thursday, July 27, in Tyler, at the age of 81. Dennis was born June 21, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to David Paul Vance and Ester Pauline Overstreet Vance.

Mr. Vance was a veteran, having served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps, and having earned the Purple Heart medal for wounds received in action. After his military service Dennis worked as a construction consultant in San Antonio for many years before retiring to the Leesburg area in 1993.

Dennis is survived by three sons, a daughter, three step-sons, and numerous grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: David and Ester Vance; and his wife: Betty Faye (Conley) Vance.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 29, at Enoch Cemetery in Gilmer.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Mr. Vance's honor to the Arden Haynes American Legion #351, P.O. Box 367 A, Hughes Springs, Texas, 75656.
